If you want a getaway near Bangkok without rushing there and back in a single day, try a 2-day, 1-night trip to Samut Prakan. Take it slowly, from the crocodile farm to checking in at Bang Pu and staying in the Praeksa area, then head on the next day to pay respects to Luang Pho To and explore Bang Phli.
Samut Prakan is a province with many moods: family attractions, seaside viewpoints, important temples, old communities, and local traditions. It is also not far from Bangkok, which makes it ideal for a short trip over a holiday.
If you are wondering where to go on a 2-day, 1-night trip to Samut Prakan and where to stay, follow this plan.
DAY 1: Visit the Samut Prakan Crocodile Farm Before Checking In at Bang Pu
Start your first day at the Samut Prakan Crocodile Farm and Zoo, one of the province’s long-standing attractions. It suits families, couples, or anyone who wants to open the trip with activities that can be enjoyed from the morning. Inside, there are areas for viewing crocodiles and a wide variety of animals, as well as scheduled activities and shows. We recommend allowing from the morning until around noon here, before continuing to the Bang Pu area in the afternoon.
Evening: Bang Pu, the Sea, and the Sunset
After the crocodile farm, head on in the evening to Bang Pu Recreation Center, another major landmark for visiting Samut Prakan. The seaside atmosphere is perfect for a stroll, a sea breeze, and watching the sunset, especially toward the end of the year, when large numbers of migratory seagulls can be seen around Suk Ta Bridge.
On a 2-day, 1-night trip, you do not need to spend the whole day here. We recommend coming from late afternoon into the evening, to enjoy Bang Pu’s beautiful atmosphere and relax before checking in to your accommodation.

Where to Stay After Bang Pu? Check In at Maybis Hotel in Praeksa
After visiting Bang Pu, there is no need to rush back to Bangkok. You can stay on in the Praeksa area, giving yourself time to rest and continue exploring the next day.
Maybis Hotel is a Samut Prakan hotel on Bang Phli–Tamru Road in the Praeksa area. Bang Pu Recreation Center is about 5 minutes from the hotel, and Wat Bang Phli Yai Nai is about 15 minutes away, making it a convenient base along the Bang Pu–Praeksa–Bang Phli route.
The hotel has rooms for couples, families, and business travelers, along with facilities such as Wi-Fi, a Co-Working Space, a Business Center, meeting rooms, and a Fitness Center.
In the evening, you can relax in the hotel or dine at Maysaya Café, which serves both Thai and international food. On Fridays and Saturdays, there is also a rice porridge buffet to enjoy.
Get a full night’s rest, then set off the next morning to explore Bang Phli.
DAY 2: Pay Respects to Luang Pho To and Explore Bang Phli
On the second morning, after breakfast, head to Wat Bang Phli Yai Nai Royal Monastery, known to many as the Luang Pho To temple, just 15 minutes from the hotel. This temple is one of the important landmarks of Bang Phli District and a center of faith for local people. In the morning, you can pay respects to the Buddha, make merit, and stroll around the surrounding community. Nearby is the Bang Phli Ancient Market, where you can stop to wander, find food or souvenirs, before heading home.
Visiting in October? Don’t Miss the 2026 Rub Bua Festival
If you are planning to visit Samut Prakan in October, you can add one more important event to the trip: the Rub Bua (Lotus Receiving) Festival in Bang Phli District. In 2026, the festival is scheduled from October 19 to 27, 2026, at Wat Bang Phli Yai Nai and the surrounding area. The Rub Bua tradition is an old tradition of the people of Bang Phli. One of the festival’s signature sights is a replica of Luang Pho To being carried by boat along Khlong Samrong while people offer lotus flowers. It reflects the way of life and the community’s bond with the water.
If you plan to visit during the festival, we recommend checking the event schedule and traffic conditions again before you set off, as some periods may be very crowded.
Summary of the 2-Day, 1-Night Samut Prakan Plan
Day 1: Samut Prakan Crocodile Farm and Zoo → Bang Pu Recreation Center in the evening → check in at Maybis Hotel → dinner and rest.
Day 2: Breakfast at the hotel → pay respects to Luang Pho To at Wat Bang Phli Yai Nai → Bang Phli Ancient Market → if your visit falls between October 19 and 27, 2026, stop by the Rub Bua Festival → head home.
This plan does not require rushing through many attractions. Instead, it focuses on continuous travel within the Bang Pu–Praeksa–Bang Phli area, leaving you real time to explore and relax within 2 days and 1 night.
Have More Time? Where Else to Go in Samut Prakan
If you still have time, you can add nearby attractions to suit the style of your trip, such as Wat Asokaram for temple lovers, or the Ancient City for those who want to spend time admiring the architecture and landmarks from different regions of Thailand.
But if you have only 2 days and 1 night, we recommend not trying to see everything. Choosing about 2–3 stops per day keeps the trip comfortable and leaves more time to rest.
Keep Relaxing at Maybis Hotel Before the Next Day’s Outing
After a full day at the crocodile farm and enjoying the evening breeze at Bang Pu, staying close by makes a 2-day, 1-night trip more comfortable, with no need to rush back to Bangkok in a single day.
Maybis Hotel is in the Praeksa area, a convenient base along the route between Bang Pu and Bang Phli. It offers several room types, along with the Maysaya Café restaurant, a Fitness Center, and workspace areas, to choose from according to the lifestyle of each trip.
Get a full night’s rest, then the next morning go to pay respects to Luang Pho To, visit the Bang Phli Ancient Market, or join the atmosphere of the Rub Bua Festival in October. That is all it takes for a 2-day, 1-night Samut Prakan trip to cover sightseeing, dining, staying, and soaking up the atmosphere of Bang Pu–Praeksa–Bang Phli without any rush.
