Garuda Museum Samut Prakan the only one in ASEAN

Maybis Hotel Samut Prakan is here to take you on a cultural journey to a unique free attraction you won’t find anywhere else in Thailand — the Garuda Museum Samut Prakan. This is the first and only Garuda Museum in ASEAN, open for everyone to visit free of charge.

What’s more, the museum also provides complimentary shuttle service from the BTS Kheha Station to ensure maximum convenience for all visitors.

This museum was established on October 1, 2011 by Thanachart Bank following its merger with Siam City Bank, which had royal Garuda emblems installed at various branches. After the merger, Thanachart Bank recognized the cultural significance of these Garuda emblems and therefore relocated them from the branches to be enshrined at the Thanachart Training Center in Bang Pu, Samut Prakan Province.

Inside the Garuda Museum in Samut Prakan, more than 150 Royal Garuda emblems are on display, many of which were respectfully transferred from over 100 former branches of Siam City Bank nationwide. The exhibition presents the history, beliefs, and artistic heritage surrounding the Garuda—a mythical creature from Himavanta forest and a revered symbol of gratitude, virtue, and loyalty.

According to Thai–Hindu traditions, the Garuda is also regarded as a sacred and powerful creature. The museum features outstanding interior and exterior architectural carvings and designs that beautifully reflect the sanctity, majesty, and elegance of the Garuda.
