Exploring the Architecture of MAYBIS HOTEL, a Beautiful Hotel in Bangpu

Design is a central element in hotel architecture, as it directly influences the guest experience. A thoughtfully planned interior style harmoniously blends aesthetics with functionality, ensuring that every area is both visually appealing and truly practical. It also reflects the hotel’s unique brand identity and creates a memorable impression on guests by integrating local cultural elements into the design.

Good design further enhances operational efficiency and supports sustainability initiatives, helping elevate the hotel’s reputation as an innovative and environmentally conscious destination. Overall, effective design ensures that guests enjoy a positive experience throughout their stay and view the hotel as a modern, guest-centric place worth returning to.

Maybis Hotel is located on Bang Phli–Tamru Road in Samut Prakan, a key industrial and business hub near Bangkok. The hotel is surrounded by major attractions and is conveniently close to Suvarnabhumi Airport. This location reflects our commitment to providing guests with an experience that is:

  • EASY TO COMFORT

  • EASY TO CONNECT

EXTERIOR DESIGN

Exterior design refers to the overall design of a building’s outer appearance including the selection of materials, textures, and colors so that it harmonizes with its surroundings and architectural form through the use of artistic elements such as painting and sculpture.

For Maybis Hotel, the exterior design is inspired by the gentle sea waves of Bangpu. This inspiration is reflected in the curved design of the building’s balconies, symbolizing the flowing motion of the ocean waves.

Overall, the architectural concept also embraces a Modern Tropical style, emphasizing a relaxed, holiday-like atmosphere that feels comfortable, welcoming, and easygoing. The hotel’s CI color, a warm sunset orange, is derived from the beautiful glow of the sun setting over the seaside in the Bangpu area.

Interior Design

Interior design refers to the creation of interior spaces with a focus on aesthetics, safety, and functionality that truly meet the needs of the occupants. For this project, Maybis has adopted the concept of Hotel Approach Design: Origami Inspired as the core design direction.

A Sense of Local — Reflecting the Spirit of the Community

Inspired by the simple idea of paper folding, this concept evolves into a contemporary interior design language that expresses the natural character of the local area. It draws particularly from the ecological charm of Bangpu Recreation Center, a well-known nature attraction. One of its iconic highlights is the heart-shaped wooden post where seagulls often perch, earning the nickname “Heart-Perch Spot.”

The designers translated this local symbol into the hotel’s aesthetic by incorporating it into the lobby’s vertical slatted feature, creating a beautiful and modern interpretation of the beloved motif.

Restaurant & Bar

Maysaya Restaurant & Maysaya Café feature a beautifully balanced interior design that emphasizes openness and comfort. The spacious layout, combined with large panoramic windows overlooking the outdoor garden area, creates a relaxing atmosphere and allows guests to enjoy the view from every angle throughout their dining experience.

The wall decorations draw inspiration from the sails of ancient Chinese junks—traditional wooden seafaring vessels equipped with tall masts and wind-powered sails. These ships once traveled to Thailand, including the province of Samut Prakan, which historically served as an important coastal frontier and trading port. Maritime transport played a vital role in the region and continues to this day, reflected through the various piers and docks such as:

  • Vibulsi Pier, located in Pak Nam Subdistrict, Mueang Samut Prakan District

  • Phra Pradaeng Pier, situated in front of the Phra Pradaeng District Office

  • Khlong Dan Pier, in Khlong Dan Subdistrict, Bang Bo District

  • Cold Storage Pier, in Thaiban Subdistrict, Mueang Samut Prakan District

  • Fish Bridge Pier, also in Thaiban Subdistrict, Mueang Samut Prakan District

  • Phetra Ferry Pier, a vehicular ferry transporting passengers between the west and east sides of Phra Pradaeng District

  • Ajinomoto Pier, located in Phra Pradaeng District, providing vehicle transport to the Phetra Ferry area

Inspired by this maritime heritage, Maybis incorporated elements of junk sails into the wall design, resulting in a distinctive and harmonious look. The curved lines soften the darker tones of the room, reducing any sense of heaviness and creating an inviting, warm, and relaxing dining environment for all guests.
